- Rafeboogs of Manila Vanilla with some hilarious Pacquaio-related basketball material. Manny tells ESPN that he'd like to be George Foreman so he could be big enough to play power forward in the NBA. Foreman is 6'3 1/2. Plus, a breakdown of Pacman's game based on the HBO 24/7 footage. Seems like Manny has in his arsenal "an awkward behind the back dribble", "hideous jump shot form" and "double-clutch layups with plenty of pektos".
- The "underperforming" CJ Giles is being dropped by the Smart Gilas developmental team for his negative work ethic. SBP executive director Noli Eala says on the naturalization process: "We believe that Giles may not possess some of the qualifications which we are looking for in the player who will be bestowed Filipino citizenship by naturalization. We have always maintained the SBP will not trifle or trivialize our naturalization process. And only those truly deserving should be given the privilege and honor to play as a naturalized player for the country." The SBP is eyeing Jamal Thompson, Shaun Pruitt or Earl Barron as possible replacements.
- Chris Soler of Inboundpass with a two-part final look at the NCAA season. (Check them out here for Part 1 and here for the second). Some interesting quotes from the head coaches of the NCAA teams. My favorite one was EAC coach Nomer Isla's "Beating the big teams is what inspires us to play basketball" which was said minutes before San Beda beat the Generals by 31 points. Also noteworthy is San Sebastian rookie coach Ato Agustin's Finals pre-game talk to his rookie laden squad where he said "Walang rookie rookie. Lahat tayo coach at player, pare-pareho lang tayo."
