- Surprise result in the PBA last Friday. The then-winless Rain or Shine Elastopainters outlasted the then-unbeaten Alaska Aces, 86-81. I've said that this was a better team than their record indicated. ROS has struggled to put up points on the board but got an unlikely offensive kick in the 4th quarter against the Aces. Don Dulay, one of the premier three-point shooters in the league last year, exploded for 18 of his 20 points in the final quarter. Maybe Dulay at the point could be the answer to the team's offensive woes?
- The RP Under-16 squad is all set for the FIBA Under-16 Championships in Malaysia. Kiefer Ravena of Ateneo skipped yesterday's Bantay Bata All-Star games because the U-16s are flying out of the country today. Fellow second-generation player Jeron Teng of Xavier is among the notable guys on the squad. This is the team that recently won a pocket tournament in Cebu against other nation's youth teams. The FIBA Asia games start November 19.
